Two clients may come into our Weston chiropractic clinic with back pain. Although their symptoms are similar, our Weston chiropractors may choose very different chiropractic services depending on the source of the pain. Each treatment plan is unique. After thorough consultation and examination, we will design a program specifically tailored to each patient’s chief health issue. A key component to maximizing a patient’s health is taking the time to listen to patients. During visits, Dr. Behar and Dr. Browner take the time to really get to know each of our patients. We listen and care about our patient’s concerns.
The main treatment a chiropractor provides involves manual therapy including manipulation of the spine (“an adjustment”) or other joints, and soft tissue. Treatment also includes exercises and health and lifestyle counseling. A chiropractic adjustment consists of gently moving the affected joint into the direction that it may be restricted. It may also involve the application of a short, quick movement in that direction.
When an adjustment is given, built up pressure is released and some degree of motion is restored to the particular area. Some patients will feel immediate relief. Most patients find that periodic chiropractic checkups help keep them in tip-top shape. Those who are active, have stressful jobs, or want to be their very best, find that a schedule of preventative visits are helpful in the maintenance of good health.
Our Weston chiropractors use kinesiology, which is a form of muscle testing, to diagnose and treat imbalances in the body. For instance, we locate a muscle that tests “weak” and then determine why that muscle is not functioning properly through a series of strength tests. We then evaluate and apply the therapy that best eliminates the muscle weakness including specific joint manipulation or mobilization, various myofascial therapies, cranial techniques, meridian therapy, various reflex procedures, clinical nutrition and dietary management. Any one of these therapies alone or in combination will usually restore strength to the previously weak muscle.
Massage therapy focuses on specific muscles, offering targeted pain relief by relaxing the muscles and promoting better circulation overall. They help rebalance the muscles in your body in the same way that a chiropractor rebalances your skeletal structures. Results include:
Our clinic uses Physiotherapy to complement and enhance other chiropractic treatments.
Part of your body’s healing process is a gentle return to carefully chosen exercises. Our chiropractors will provide you with a list of therapeutic exercises that will help strengthen your body, reducing pain and soreness and helping relieve stress. These exercises will be performed at our Weston chiropractic clinic with instructions on how to properly perform them at home.
As Weston chiropractors skilled in treating sports injuries, we see a lot of chiropractic patients who suffer from chronic muscle pain and inflammation. We see these same symptoms among those who suffer from chronic headaches, carpal tunnel, tennis elbow, arthritis and neck pain as well. The Kinesio Taping® Method is a definitive rehabilitative taping technique that is designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process while providing support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting the body’s range of motion. Latex-free and wearable for days at a time, Kinesio® Tex Tape can successfully treat a variety of orthopedic, neuromuscular, neurological and other medical conditions.
X-rays are not a therapy per se, but are used by our Weston chiropractors as a diagnostic tool to view your bones and joints with clarity, and to some extent, the related soft tissues. X-rays are not done as a routine chiropractic office procedure at Windmill Health Center. Generally, our Weston chiropractors use x-rays only when there are “red flags” indicating possible fractures, bone disease, disc herniation or some other serious problems.
With our comprehensive care and technology, we put a modern spin on chiropractic care at the Windmill Health Center. Providing you with the latest breakthroughs in Wellness Care, we will help you get back on the right path.
